By special request, a selection of performances of this piece, in various versions.

First, Brahms' own orchestral version, with the Berlin Philharmonic and Claudio Abbado:

One of the most well-known versions of the piece is Joachim's version, as a showpiece violin solo. The score for this arrangement is available on IMSLP.

The pianist Georges Cziffra took things further, returning the piece to its original status as piano solo, but taking it to another level of virtuosity:

The final version is another solo violinist, but with added touches of authentic Gypsy playing - this never really was a 'Hungarian' piece in anything other than name all along!
